it is saturday morning (yuck, i just took a sip of my coffee that is now cold. did you know that cold coffee tastes like some type of bathroom cleaner or something? --uggghhh.)
anyway, i haven't been in to the whole blog world in a while. not sure that i am this morning either, but i feel like writing.
thurs nite i was able to leave work a little early, and i drove to chattanooga. for some reason, the idea stressed me out a little bit; seriously, i think i was cranky on account of it. and it wasn't the actual "drive two hours, stay two hours, drive back two hours" that was rough. refer back to the previous "farewell chattanooga" posting to get a glimpse of why i was oddly excited/oddly uptight about the visit.
[im back with re-heated coffee -- not much better. my bro-in-law calls me lorelei gilmore if that means anything to any of you.]
i drove straight to adaptive swimming to see rachel. the little girl that i used to pick up and take to the swimming class. her mother now (somewhat reluctantly) brings her. Afterward, i went to dinner with my two roommates that i used to live with, and then i made a quick attempt to get into davenport hall to drop off some papers for a professor. problem was, the doors were locked, the abra-cadabra technique that i used to use to open the locked door didn't work, and my evening changed courses completely because i couldn't get that stupid door open...
but now i don't know what to say or what to write about it. Life's odd sometimes. when i couldn't get the door open (which should've opened need i remind you -- until this semester i always had after hours access via security, but even without access, there is usually someone i know inside i can call to let me in, or even if not, i can get the locked door open), i drove away and smiled inside sarcastically thinking, "okay, God, you've got my attn. What's your point?"
the change in my evening might have been fairly uneventful to most; in some ways, it was fairly uneventful even to me but there was something subtle that changed in my heart.
or more accurately said, i think something has been changing in my heart, and i don't quite know what to make of it yet.
