sad resolution to the house mystery

well, it all came to a sad (and odd) end. i went to the property accessor's office on fri during lunch and had her print -- a report for me on the lot and house. i got in the car and starting quickly scanning the many, many, many details that really meant nothing to me. in the bottom left-hand corner, i found info on the buying and selling of the house or the past few years. in 1997 it sold for $85,000. in 2001 (when i remembered seeing it for sale) it sold for $85,000 again. in 2004, it sold for >$200 and something thousand dollars. that's right folks and some co. out in san diego owns it. the paper said something about a future business that will plow down my precious little house.

so there you go. sad end, and even sadder because i don't have a plan B, yet. i need a place to live :)
