cliche
nothing is new under the sun.
(a verse of scripture -- written by the wisest man on earth no less -- even in itself turned over to the cliche.)
nothing is new under the sun. nothing.
my heart. your sickness. love. disappointment. lonliness.
it is interesting when you start to think of others braving the same emotions.
the rollercoaster has to be one of the most overused cliches. but before it was rendered sentimental and worthless someone used it as a metaphor. a metaphor that i am liking tonight.
i think there is a sign warning those potential passengers with cardiac complications.
when you finally survive the ascent on a rollercoaster, there are a few seconds when you are suspended at the top. you can see for miles. feel the wind...and your stomache turning circles. it is wonderful. scary and surreal. you are for that moment -- suspended above real life. it is the closest thing to human flight i can imagine.
on the way down, there is the stomach plunge.you feel lifted from your seat and stuck to the guard on your shoulders. and if you let your head drop even for a second, it is hard to pick it back up straight.
even though on the straightaways at the bottom -- you are missing the high life, there is satisfaction in accomplishment. an adrenaline rush.
i went up. i came back down. the bottom was lonely, i won't lie.
